Rhône
The Rhône Valley stretches from south of Lyon almost to the Mediterranean Sea, giving this region exceptional and broad winemaking credentials.
From the moment the Romans marched through France on their way to conquer northern Europe, the Rhône valley has been a source of extraordinary wines. Today, this region boasts one of the largest areas of Roman ruins, complete with rare Roman temples and arenas.
Thanks to its steep slopes in the north and flat basins in the south, this area has some of France’s most beautiful, but difficult to cultivate landscapes. Winemaking experts from Côte-Rôtie to Châteauneuf-du-Pape are intimately
intune with the terrain and you will have chance to meet them, ask your questions and taste the wines they specialize in.
Your Bacchus and Clio vineyard visit will include tastings of Rhône Valley icons, including red wines of Hermitage grown on the side of sun-soaked slopes, and white wines of Condrieu, located near the Roman town of Vienne. Your personal sommelier will describe the many appellations that give the Rhône Valley its distinctive personality and quintessential French charm.
