Discover the collections of the Louvre museum in a new light with a guided tour themed around the art of winemaking. Explore the role that food and wine played in the ancient world through artistic masterpieces from Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece and the Italian Renaissance. A visit to Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa will reveal an intriguing connection between this famous lady and the world of wine.

A short walk through the Tuileries Garden (weather permitting) will lead to the magnificent Hôtel de Crillon, a Rosewood hotel. This beautiful building, which dates to 1758, was once a destination for Marie Antoinette who is thought to have taken piano lessons in the then private mansion.

Here, you will be introduced to the hotel’s head sommelier, Xavier Thuizat, who will escort you to the wine cellars and conduct a private tasting with five wines paired with 10 canapes, prepared by the chef.
